Happy Independence Day of the Republic of Tatarstan!

August 30, 1990 — Day of the adoption of the Declaration of State Sovereignty of the Republic of Tatarstan. The Declaration of the Supreme Council of the Tatar ASSR proclaimed the state sovereignty of Tatarstan as a democratic state governed by the rule of law and emphasized the “inalienable right of the people of the republic to self-determination, the right to own land and natural resources”, and that “the Constitution and laws of the Tatar SSR have supremacy throughout the territory of the Tatar SSR.”

The centralization of power in the hands of Moscow will not stop the process of the collapse of the Russian Empire of Evil. And the current humiliated position of the Tatars in the Republic of Tatarstan and the unfair treatment of all Tatars is a strong incentive for us to restore our statehood.

We remember and celebrate the Independence Day of the Republic of Tatarstan with pride and faith that Tatarstan will be an independent, democratic state and a full-fledged subject of international law!
