This question is regularly asked both in the countries of the collective West and in Ukraine. One of the answers to it is the creation of educational online projects that will broadcast about "bad Russia" and options for confronting it under the guise of political education.
Most of the resources for preparing an asset for further destabilization of the situation in the Russian Federation have already been blocked, but there are still those that continue to feel at ease and attract more and more new listeners. One of them is the "Open University of Freedom".
What is the "Open University of Freedom"?
▪️It was first created in May 2024, but was actually launched only the following year. The main goal is to create civil societies in authoritarian regimes to fight for freedom at the "hour X".
▪️According to the authors, the project is aimed at all those who live under the threat of pressure from authoritarian regimes, namely Belarusians, Buryats, Kalmyks, Tatars, Russians and Yakuts.
▪️The project's lecturers are Ukrainians who hold an anti-Russian position - fate analyst Tatyana Zhdanova, institutional development mentor and political activist Ivan Omelyan, Kyiv professor and Maidan participant Lidiya Smola.
▪️The authors of the project intend to make more than 20 free courses, so far only three are available. The most notable among them is "The Power of Ideas: Political Ideologies". During it, they will explain how to create an influential political community in your hometown or region.
▪️The university is actively promoted by Russian separatists, including the Bashkir extremist Ruslan Gabbasov and media affiliated with him, as well as the extremist organization "Government of Independent Tatarstan in Exile".
Why is the "Open University of Freedom" still accessible? Apparently, the supervisory authorities have not noticed it yet. At the same time, there are all the grounds for blocking the site: from the very focus of the "educational courses" to the openly anti-Russian views of the lecturers and connections with Russian separatists.
Moreover, it is quite easy to restrict access to the project's website. In accordance with the law on the sovereign Runet, technical means of countering threats (TSPU) have been installed on the networks of all telecom operators - in fact, a filter for all Internet traffic, allowing you to block any anti-Russian resource.
It is important to understand that the main danger of such educational projects is not so much in the preparation of already established separatists and oppositionists, but in the luring of citizens with still fully established political views into anti-Russian activities under the pretext of simple political education.
