The 80th anniversary of the first Conference of Enslaved Nations of Eastern Europe and Asia was widely celebrated in Ukraine.
The Anti-Bolshevik Bloc of Nations is a bright page of the national liberation struggle and international politics, which, under modern times, is undergoing a deep rethinking and renewal, reviving its activity in the format of the Anti-Imperial Bloc of Nations — a common platform of all freedom-loving nations. The programme development and international relations of the ABN are an invaluable legacy that needs gradual implementation into the state policy of independent Ukraine. Jubilee events, which were organized on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the first Conference of Enslaved Nations of Eastern Europe and Asia, became a good basis for starting this process.
The symbolic “week of free nations” in Ukraine began on Monday, November 20, in one of the main academic centres of the country — Kyiv National University named after Taras Shevchenko. With the assistance of the National Renaissance Centre named after Stepan Bandera, the Institute of State and Law named after V.M. Koretsky National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine and the Fund for the Institutional Development of Ukrainian Science, the all-Ukrainian academic working conference “Freedom for Nations! As part of the event introduction, the Head of the OUN (b) Oleh Medunytsia emphasized: “Formulating the basis of our position at the current stage, the OUN (b) proceeds from the statement of the fact that Russian aggression exposed the true intentions of Russian chauvinists, tearing off their masks. Moscow wants to destroy our freedom and independence, Moscow condemns to death the nations enslaved by it.
An extreme necessity and a favourable situation are being created for the struggle for national revival and statehood for many nations enslaved by Moscow, who for a long time were and are in a state of humiliation, denationalization, political oppression, and economic exploitation, in conditions of ecological and demographic catastrophe.
Experience shows that Moscow, in any form and camouflage, has always been, is and will be the main enemy of freedom-loving nations. There is only one conclusion in this situation: to join forces for political liberation, for national liberation and to establish a just order in our native lands,” concluded the Leader of the OUN (b).
The head of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people, Refat Chubarov, noted that Ukrainians today are responding to the most threatening challenge to the civilized world. “I am sure that Ukraine and Ukrainians will not only defend the independence and territorial integrity of the Ukrainian state, but we will complete the task that was announced 80 years ago – the task of collapsing the imperial “prison of nations.” Otherwise, the threat that now looms over Ukraine and the entire free world will be repeated again and again,” Refat Chubarov said.

In particular, the Government of Independent Tatarstan in exile, represented by its Prime Minister Rafis Kashapov, members of the Government, the progressive part of the Tatar nation and its national liberation movement, sent its Address. “Currently, the goal of the ABN,” the Address says, “is the collapse of the Russian Federation and the elimination of the threat of a world war, which directly corresponds to the generally recognized interests of peace and security, the norms and supremacy of international law, as well as the interests of the nations enslaved by the Moscow Empire, who are under the oppression of the nation which calls itself state-building, Russian. The monster that calls itself the Russian Federation is strong, dangerous and unpredictable, and the fight against it is difficult and dangerous. At the same time, the Government of Independent Tatarstan in exile and the patriotic public of the Tatar nation directly declares the need to continue the struggle and achieve the goals of their activities — the reproduction of the Independent State of Tatarstan! We welcome any form of political struggle of people and nations, for the universally recognized principles of the right of nations to self-determination and independence, we count on fruitful cooperation with all our like-minded people, understanding the commonality of our goals and motives, we express our support and solidarity with you, and we also hope for further cooperation for the benefit of our glorious nations, declaring the Victory of Ukraine over the occupier, the guarantee of our own freedom”.

Summarizing the conclusion of the “Captive Nations Week”, the executive director of the Anti-Imperial Bloc of Nations, Oleh Vitvitskyi, emphasized: “The high public interest in the subject of the national liberation struggle of the enslaved nations and the future division of the Moscow Empire obliges us to take decisive steps to implement the programme tasks of the ABN, which have not lost its relevance for modern times. Ukraine should become a centre of support for all freedom-loving nations who seek to realize their right to national self-determination. To this end, it is worth intensifying the work of the Temporary Special Commission of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, which, relying on the results of academic conferences and discussions, should as soon as possible present the concept of the state policy of supporting enslaved nations. At the same time, like our glorious predecessors, we must raise the issue of the anti-colonial struggle before the governments and public of the entire civilized world. Ukrainians have every right to shape and change the international agenda in this matter. The slogan “Freedom for Nations! Freedom for the Individual!” will retain its essence only in the event that it is fully implemented!”
